COUNCIL'S NEW TRAWLER.
MAKES -TEST TRIP. The City Council's new trawler Cowan is one of the real North Sea type. She went- out on her first trip on Saturday, and came in this morning with a fine haul of 400 baskets of fish; each banket weighs about eighty pounds. Included in the catch was a fair lot of mold, a fish usually obtained a little further north. The Cowan went out again, and should return this afternoon with another catch.' As the Council has now two trawlers at work, there will be a plentiful supply of fieh, which it may be mentioned can be sold to retailers in quantities of a little less than 100 lbs, at a fraction under one penny per lb. At a time when the cost of living is so high, the plentiful supply of cheap fish is of the utmost importance to the public
