'A wireless German official message states:—"We repulsed an English attack near Serre, but we lost ground near Baillescourt. The English attacked north of St. Pierre Vaast Wood and retained a small portion of our front. "During January ■Wβ lost 34 aeroplanes, while the English, French, and Russians lost 55."
