Bennett, Who is taking up work in the Hawke's Bay district, with headquarters at Hastings. For twelve years Mr. Bennett ha* done excellent work in the district, and it Was through his untiring 1 efforts that the present church at Ohinemutu, j which is considered to be the finest Maori church in the Dominion, Was erected. Several of the chiefs presented Mr. Bennett With a purse of sovereigns each.. At a meeting of creditors in.a bankrupt estate before the Official Assignee this morning, Mr. Fisher was induced by the circumstances of the case to make very forcible remarks on the lasity of owners of small businesses. "There is a certain section of the community," said Mr. Fisher, "that goes on blindly, until they fool themselves. It is negligent tb not keep the proper accounts of business dealings when a man is working On a email capital such as in this case, and further so, When he fails to acquaint his creditors with his true position, and allow accounts to increase, knowing that they cannot be met." Let A.M.C. serve you. One grade of meat only—the best procurable. All fresh killed.—.(Ad.)
