PATRIOTIC LEAGUE'S WORK. The Auckland Women's Patriotic League are quietly attending to the very important work of sending thousands of saTce'.s monthly to New Zealanders at he front. At the Town Hall yesteriay there were animated scenes when .bout 200 members of the League were t work making up the parcels and pickng them in boxes ready for shipment. >o less than 6000 parcels are being sent his month. 5500 being for France and no for Egypt. Members of the League are now con--tantly receivinij letters from men in .he firing-line who have received the arcels. and from the tone of all of ha etters there can be no doubt that these resents from home are very much appelated. It has been found that the ol iers are particularly glad to get packages of -chocolates, and for this reason iigbter woollen goods c.-re now bei"g sent, i bigger proportion of sweets being substituted.
