RETURNED SOLDIERS.
35 INVALIDS ARRIVE. ONLY TWO OOT CASKS. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. The steamer Paloona, which arrived-to-day, brought 35 soldiers back. Most of the men have seen service in Egypt only, but some have been in Gallipoli, and two were with the Mesopotamian expedition. There are only two cot cases, and most of tbe men showed little outward trace of their experiences. The cot cases are:—Driver Brown, Westport, badly wounded in the leg, and Private T. B. Wallace, Wellington. Driver Brown was mentioned in dispatches. Sappers Middleton and Loveridge, who were attached as wireless operators to divisional headquarters of tlie Indian Expeditionary Force in Mesopotamia, broke down, as the result of the climate One of them states that out of his section of 61, only 29 were now fit for duty. T3ie men were accorded a reception this afternoon. The Northern soldier* leave by the Paloona to-morrow. NORTHERN MEN LEAVE DUNEDIN. (By *e_raph—Press Association.) •1..- DDNHDIN, thie dey. Thirty of the men who returned by the Fateona from Egypt, via Australia yesterday, left for the North by that vessel this afternoon.
