ANOTHER RUSSIAN DETACHMENT REACHES SALONIKA.
STERN FIGHTING ON THE LEFT FLANK. LONDON, October 11. Another Russian detachment has arrived at Salonika. The Italians have occupied Klisuera, south-east of Tepelene, in Albania. The Athens correspondent of the "Daily Chronicle writes: —"There was stern fighting all day long on Sunday. The Allies' left, the Serbians particularly, was heavily engaged. Monastir is not of great military importance, hut opens up the way across the River Cerna. Its capture will force an extensive enemy retreat, and probably compel the abandonment of the famous Babuna defiles, which will free a large portion of Southern Serbia. The Serbians' main force has been devoted to the capture of Chouke Height, the remaining eminence of importance in the Eaimakalan Range. Good progress has already been made. Chouke is the key to Monastir." A French communique states: —"The Bulgarians on the Struma front evacuated Cavdaram, Ormanli, and paznatas. In sharp combats on the Cerna Bend the Serbians captured 816 prisoners." ■'..'/ '
