'■ There has been a good deal of inod—ica- .' tion in : the scope of the publicity com- : which "was decided upon by the . Auckland _idustrial Association -"some '■• months ago. The campaign is now to *.' be confined to displays of New Zealand , - made goods, and arrangements are being . completed for speciality -windows, poster displays and newspaper advertising. At the meeting of the Industrial Asso-„,-elation held yesterday afternoon Mr. S. " J.Harbutt (president) reported that a toW of 36 firms had undertaken to ad- „ vertise under the scheme. In some cases \ - tfcefe had been a deplorable apathy on | the party of manufacturers, but on the i other hand there had been most encouraging support, and now there could be no doubt that the scheme completed by the Publicity Campaign Odinxnittee would be successful -"• The original idea of including both > British and New Zealand- manufactures had been abandoned, as it was found ■ that in some cases the two groups were in a measure conflicting. Furthermore those who had agreed to come into the campaign were disposed to have - uidiSTiather than collective^- displays, and it had been resolved to hold individual displays over a period instead of the 'originally ~pr°P osed collectiye d)STilavs for a week. -•Hie designs for posters and Press advertisements were nearing coniolction, that the effec. of the outlay in this branch would be excellent both from the viewpoint of the.maimferturer- and as a patriotic contribution. -It is anticipated that the campaign -ill be under way in November, and the tobUc should then have an exceptional Krtunity of learning by newspaper I Stisement, attractive P°s£«; »» d "■•S-Twindow displays what Ne"*r Zea_?can do in the way of manufactures.
