(By KIM.) On Satnrdar last the St. Barnabas and Cromwell Troops arranged to bold an ittack on Mt. Eden. This took place at -30, ami resulted in a win for the St. Jarnabas Troop. A3 the St. Sepulchre, tft. Alocrt, and Akarana Troops were also larading on the mountain, a combined atack was tben made by the Cromwell. Mt. —Bert aud Akaraua Troops upon the St. Jarnabas and St. Sepulchre Troops. At :he close three clieers were given for tbe -/inning side, viz.,. St. Barnabas and St. Sepulchre, bringing' to a close a very enjoyable afternoon, lt Is to be hoped tbat turther combined meetings will be held in -he future, as they help to strengthen the spirit of camera.derie amongst the troops. At Waipu tbe movement w_i recently started by Acting-Scoutmaster R. R. BOUL OF HONOUR. This week's casualty list Includes the tinme of Second' Lieutenant Frank Simpson, son of ex-Chlef-Scoutmaster R. J. Simpson. ,of Devonport, who was one of the earliest officers In the movement, and for several years rendered valuable services In the Auckland d_trier. Second Lieutenant Frank Simpson was a Sergeant-Major In the Devonport Xo. 1 Troop, nnd was an excellent example o[ the true Scout. It is hoped tbat his wounds are not serious. and that good uews of his recovery may be received shortly. , SCOUTS' PAHAD-E/ The Scouts' of the Auckland Centre are to parade on Saturday next in connection with the farewell to tbe 18th Reinforcements. The troops will assemble at the Ferry Buildings at 4..*J0 p.m. The affiliated Drum and Fife Bands are also expected to be present. SCOUT OFFICERS' CONFERENCE. A conference of officers -holding district warrants of appointment will take place ■t St. Mitthew's Pnrlsh . Hall. Eden, on Friday evening last. Mr R. S. Abel, Commissioner for the Auckland Centre. presided. Amongst those present were the District Commander and the Chief Examiner (Lieutenant A. T Dow). Special reference was made during the evening to the progress made by the! troop under Scoutmaster S. H. Blilwel! who has devoted great care and attention te the Scouts, with the result that an exceptionally goqd all-ronnd standard of work has heen reached by the troop. Tbe boys I are fortnnate'in hnving as president 3lr Avery, who. with Mrs Avery, Miss Seanlen, and other lady friends, assisted in the success of the social. Scoutmaster Bldwell, of the Tabernacle Troop, was operated ou this wee* for appendicitis at the district hospital.
