MT. WELLINGTON ROAD BOARD
The Mount Wellington Road Board met yesterday. Present: Messrs. Jas. Wood {chairman), Wm. Gollan, G. H. Kay, Isaac Wymer, and Peter Turnbull.
Mr. Turnbull, who had been elected a member of the Board in place of Mr.. W. J. Greenwood ' (deceased), was welcomed by the chairman: It was resolved that the inspector (the Board's clerk) serve notices on all owners and occupiers to dear noxious weeds, and especially the winged thistle, which is very prevalent at the Olahuhu end of the district.
It was decided that a Noxious Trades permit be issued to the Union Oil, Soap and Candle Co., Ltd.. subject to the company paying the Board's .solicitor's fees.. TSe. chairman reported that the. Manckau - plant Was engaged upon the Board's portion of the Great South Hoad, and that the clerk had waited .-ilpon the chairman of the Ellerslie Town Board, with a view to that. body having. their portion of the road at Penrose repaired at the same time.
