PARADE IN AUCKLAND. TRUMPET BAND TO COME NORTH. The Mayor has not yet been informed whether it is the intention of the ActingPrime Jlinister (the Hon. James Allen) to be present at tbe parade of tbe Eighteenth Reinforcements, which is to take place on Saturday. Mr. Gunson has suggested that if ilr. Allen is able to be here it may also be convenient for him to remain until Monday and tako part in a welcome to "the Parliamentarians who are returning by the Makura. which is due to arrive from Vancouver on Monday. In connection with the arrangements for tbe parucle, the Mayor wired to the Minister of Railways suggesting that the members of the Trumpet Band (an organisation well known in Wellington) should be given passes to come to Auckland for the special occasion. The Mayor received the following telegram from the Hon. Mr. Allen as follows:— "Tlie Hon. Mr. Herries has referred to mc your telegram of to-day. and ] am pleased to approve of the Defence Department paying the railway fares of the Trumpet Band to Auckland for tho parade of the Eighteenth Reinforcements." In connection with the send-off to tbe Eighteenth Reinforcements, the Auckland district Boy Scouts -will parade on Saturday afternoon next. The troops are to assemble at the Kerry Buildings, Quay Street, at 4.30 p.m., and* form up so ac to march to their positions in Lower Queen Street at 5 p.m.
