LAWN TENNIS.
A new tennie star in a youth named Roberto appeals to have come to light in America. Of his .prowess an exchange says: The youngster, who every Coast etar ewears will make a big leap into the first ten in the customary meteoric Golden Gate fashion, has brought a wellbalanced game to dangle before Easterners. His service, hit a trifle- farther back than that of most of the other fast servers, is an extremely fact straight slash, which almost invariably catapult* within a few inch.cc of the service line, or the puzzling, deep-bound-ing American. twist. Roberta alternates the two deliveries a trifle, gut has a tendency to shoot orer more slashes than twists. The great youngster"* volleying its unusually sharp, shooting fast for one corner or the other. Hie wrist muet be made of steel, judging from the way volleys come back from his racket. Overhead he is almost as good as on service. His ground strokes, the conventional epeedy topped forehander backhand drivee, are good, but not the strongest part of hie game.
