At a meeting of the executive of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday, the following were appointed for the annual Metropolitan Sho-w in December next, as folfows:—Cirief stewards: Light horses, Mr. A. Muir; riding »nd driving, Mr. C. 'Wallace; draught horse*, Mr. Frank Walters and Mr. Dmvid Wallace; Shorthorne, etc., Mr. J. E. Makgill; Holeteins, Mr. J. Ambury; Ayrahires, Mr. Selwyn Hamlin: Jerseys, Mr. R. J- Stevenson; dairy cattle, Mr. Wn. Weetney; fat cattle, Mr. S. Hodge; Lincolns, Leicestere, and merinos, Mr. G. TJdy; Romney Marsh, Mr. M. B. Kirkbride; Down and fat sheep, Mr. Jas. Thomson; pigs, Mr. J. R. Walters and Mr. John Wyllie; judging competition. Mr. J. G. Rutherford; butter and cheese, poultry and egge. bread, cakes, etc, Mr. B. J. Eeam; agricultural and horticultural produce, Mir. F. H. Leonard; parades superintendent, Mr. A. A. swaffieid. There was a crowded attendance of land buyers at Smith and Halc-ombe's new land salerooms. Customs Street, yesterday. when the well-known Oliver Estate, of 51E acres, situated close to Hanurcwa, wan offered by auction. Mr H. B. North acted as auctioneer on behalf of his firm. The Oliver Estate i<; one of tbe oldest selection* in the province, having been in the family since 1856. Tbe estate was judiciously subdivided into seven farms, and five of* them found buyers.
