At their first meeting held on Monday the new Town Board elected Vfr &, jf. Gillespie chairman, and Mr. P. Holt as deputy-chairman. Mr. W. Richardson was also proposed for the position, bnt declined nomination. Messrs. Holt. Richardson, and Markwick were appointed a Works Committee, and Messrs. Linstrom. Lloyd, and Campbell as Finance and Legal Committee. The clerk was instructed to place on record, the Board's Thanks to the retiring Board for their work. An inspection of the roads in the Town Board area is to be made immediately. A most successful " plant" sale In aid of the Emergency Fund of the local Patriotic League was held in the Parish Hall on Wednesday, 4th. The "sale" was organised by Mrs Shanaghac assisted by a number of tidies, and the result was very grarJryIng, the receipts being £37 6/S. FbOowing is the list of helpers: —Plant stall, Mesdames Shanaghan, A. Willis, and Misses Cave and Bull; toffee stall. Misses Cave, Walters, and Walker: tree. Miss Oaire Wood, assisted by the Misses M. and J. Walters' tea kiosk, Mesdames Walters and Jones and Misses Rollett. TRiite-. McLennan (2): shooting gallery, Mr. Tuley.
