Swimming and life saving classes are now recognised in connection with the regulations for manual and technical instruction, and meet with the enthusiastic approval of Mr George George, on whose initiative the first schools swimming championship will be decided at the Tepid Bath, on the afternoons of Wednesday and Thursday next. The championship to be decided will be classed as being those of 1915-16, and will be -open to all school children who are under the age of 14 years on October Ist of last year. The present time is the off season for swimming, but the intention is to make a start under any circumstances, and thus give a fillip to the swimming-ln-schools" movement.
