Mr.-and Mrs. Perrett, of Wellington, are on a holiday visit to Auckland, and are staying at Cargen. A very entertaining evening "was spent by the mothers and friends of the children attending the Campbell Free Kindergarten on Friday evening. The concert had been organised by the mothers of the babies. Tinder the direction of Mrs.' Lavis, and consisted of action songs-'by the little ones, together with songs and recitations t>y>relatives and friends. Mrs. Banme presided."\Dpring an interval MtsTalbot, on behalf of the ladies' committee, thanked the mothers for their efforts, and said how encouraging it was to the •committee to find their efforts appreciated and such interest taken by tie mothers of the children. Captain Bogle is survived by a daughter, only a few months old. •Captain Terence Desmond, son. of tie Governor of Papua, is shortly to marry Miss PMllippa Chevalier Kitchener, niece of the late Earl Kitchener. The wedding takes place in London in a few months' time. Mrs. Elizabeth Kelly, of Gilberton.
