MAN'S SKULL FRACTURED. • ANOTHER PERSON IMPLICATED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Saturday. -'-■ At the inquest on John Finlay, who ..-■; died at the hospital this morning as tha | 8| result of injuries to his skull, W. T. Bennett, a marine engineer, said the de- :_. ceased -was brought to the Dunedia Lodge, Casiel Street, at 10.15 p_m. oil. 777 Wednesday. He was then semi-con-scious. He complained that a man had -" struck hiTn on the jaw, and also said - " — was a dog to kick mc." He bad a •bruise at the back of the ear, and be • was taken to the hospital on Friday-..-' 7 night. The inquest was adjourned. Finlay was 36 years of age, and was a married man, his wife being in Blen- - heim. He was a son of Mr Charles Fin- . lay, a retired farmer, of Timaru, and was working for the International Har- - _ vester Company, Cbristchurch.
