I _ . -A-IXXSS' OLOB. I The Bishop of Anckland <Dr. A. W. Averill) officially opened the iSailors' Crab Boom to Queen Street last evening. The" ' I new institute, for seamen of all denominations, conducted by the.Flying Angel Missions to Seamen, is situated over Rew. shop, opposite the G.P.0., and is open every evening in the week. His lordship spoke of the grand work being accomplished by seamen, and stated that the public owed them .1 great debt- The speaker congratulated the miSßioner, Mr. Arthur P. Cowie, on his long years of faithful and successful work, and trusted that-he and Mrs. Cowie would long be spared to continue in their noble i efforts on behalf of seamen. A large number of men from the Home vessels and from sailing vessels were present. Amongst others who attended were the Revs. P W Young (Devonport), A. Richards, H. b" Wlngfleld, Venerable and J. Calder. Hearty cheers were given for tbe Bishop and Mrs. Averill and for the niissioner and Mrs. Cowie.
