Mr. H. B. Lusk. of Christchurch, is at [•resent on a visit to Auckland. Mr. J. B. Fielder has completed fifty years' continual service as churchwarden, or vestryman, at Napier Cathedral. Mr. Jackson Palmer, Chief Judge of the Native Lands Court, arrived this morning and taok rooms at the Waverley Hotel. Mr. B. Mrs. Joseph Primmer, who has just died at Nelson in her !)Bth year, was the right type of settler for a new country. She had seventeen children, of whom twelve are still living. There are upwards of sixty grandchildren, .17 greatgrandchildren, and tliTee of t>he fourth generation, making a total of over 100 descendants. Mrs. Primmer arrived in Nelson in 1542. Mr. T. K.
