GERMAN AMUSEMENT.
"Soon after my arrival at VlUenberg," says Dr. Valousky, of Moscow, a Russian prisoner who has just returned from Germany, "an order -was given to Ghoot twenty Russian soldiers, a veterinary surgeon, and myself. When the Russian soldiers knelt and began to pray the Germans laughed derisively. This brutal laughter is still ringing in my ears. After keeping the soldiers in a state of mental torture for some time, the German commander withdrew the order for the shSotlug—apparently the whole proceeding was a new form of amusement for himself and his fitaXf."
