SCENE OF THE ALLIES' GREAT OFFENSIVE

THE BRITISH BATTLE FRONT IN FRANCE AND FLANDERS

THIS USEFUL MAP SHOULD BE CUT OUT, MOUNTED. AND KEPT FOR REFERENCE.

The above has been adapted, and brought up-to-date, from maps published by the London "Daily News," which were based upon information supplied by the Govern ment Press Bureau. The heavy black line, running through both, sections of the map, from the seacoast in the north to Mametz, in the south, shows the British front as it existed in May last; the black and white line from Mametz to Fay, shows portion of the French front at the same date. The shaded line to the eastward extending from Gommecourt to Hardecourt, is approximately the British front to-day; while the black line with white dots, from Hardecourt to Barleux is aDm-oxi' mately the French front to-day. The bottom portion of the second section of the map is the scene of the Allies' great offensive, and the different lines show the extent of our gains as the result of the furious fighting that has taken place during the past few weeks.
