SUGGESTION OF DELIBERATE MURDER.
A SUPPORTING VERSION". A Press Association message received from Te Kniti states that when Living-' stone and Macfarlaue reached the whare they found that it had been broken into and* deliberately fired. They looked for the culprit in tbe bush, and a native shot Livingstone, who fell. A second (shot hit Macfarlane, who ran for help, and three other shots also hit him before the native gave chase. Upon help being obtained it was found that Livingstone's body had been dragged into the bush, and that another shot had been put through his head. All the police of the district went in search of the murderer last night, and early this morning Tui Kaimuku waa arrested at his whare, seven miles from Rolleston's farm. He will arrive at Te Kuiti to-night.
