S.M. COURT.
(Before Mr. C. C. Kettle, 6.'M.)
At the Magistrate's Court this morning. Annie Gardiner, of Auckland, complained that her .husband, Charles Gardiner, was addicted to excessive drinking, aud that he had failed to adequately inaintaiu her. He habitually came home drunk, she said, and since July 4 she had been forced to rely upon the Charitable Aid Board for support. There were two children, a son and daughter, aged respectively 15 years and IS years.
The defendent said that he was in constant employment, earning £2 16/. He denied the allegation that excessive drinking had brought ahout the trouble, and stated that his wife's jealousy was the re-' cause.
An order against the defendant ror 25/ per week maintenance, which wa* aiready on the files of the Court, was allowed to stand by consent of the parties.
