MUSICAL DISCORD.
TROUBLE IN HAMILTON. (By Telegraph—'Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Discord at present disturbs the erstwhile peaceful relationships existing be-
tween members of the Waikato Regimental Band aud the bandmaster (Mr. Salter). A committee was recently set up to inquire into the trouble, and the disputant parties agreed to abide by tbe ruling of this committee, but when its findings were brought down the bandsmen would not accept them. The position is therefore that Hamilton and the regiment is left without a band, and the question has arisen as to the ownership of the instruments, which were acquired by public subscription before the band was gazetted a military organisation. , A deputation representing both factions waited on the Council last night, but the Council doubted whether it had power to take any action owing to the band being no longer a municipal one. The parties were asked to put statements of their cases in writing.
