Some time ago the question was rfeed as to whether the worti. " Kindergarten" should be deleted from the name proposed to he given to the children's school that the' Hon. Arthur Myeis is erecting in Myers' Park. At that time the Kindergarten Association ?f expressed the view that the word should be retained. Mr. Hyers, during his recent visit to •Auckland, again brought the matter un- • der the notice of the Kindergarten Association, as he was desirous of instructing the architect to put the necessary Inscription on the building now in course of erection, and asked the Association for the resuj.t of their careful and final consideration of the .question, also suggesting at the same time that the Board ' of Education might be consulted. Mr. E. Brooke-Smith, the hon. secretary" of the Auckland Kindergarten Association, now states that he has interviewed on the subject of the use of the word " Kindergarten " in this connection I the following members of the Council of the Auckland Kindergarten Association: Messrs. Cousins, Mulgan, Tunks. O"Halloran, Eev. Mr. Beattv, Dr. McDowell, as well as Mr. chairman of the Education Board.
