WITH THE SCOUTS.

(By KIM.) GRAND PAKADE. There is every prospect of a targe' parade of Scouts from all parts of the Auckland Central District on Saturday afternoon nest. The troops will assemble near the old Grammar School, Synionds Street, at 2.39 p.m., and march to the Metropolitan Ground, where tliey win be inspected by Lieut.-Col. G W. 8. Patterson (O.C. Auckland Military District), the Mayor (Mr. J: ill. Gunson), Chairman of the Board of Education (Mt. G. J. Garland), and the Chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board. Memhers of the Provincial Advisory Council, district committees (including the mayors and members of borough councils), and other representative citizens have expressed their intention of attending. During the afternoon there will be demonstrations of Scout training, including special displays of ambulance work, bridge building, stalling, fire brigade work, physical drill, etc. Selections at intervals will also he played by the drum and fife bands. The Mayor will present a medal for life-saving to ex-Patrol Leader 'Handy, now of New Lynn, and will deliver an address to the Scouts. A hearty Invitation is extended to parents, schoolmasters, and those interested in the movement to be present. One of the features of Saturday's parade ■will be a number of cyclist patrols. The Takapuna Troop will also In all probability have their patrol of mounted Scouts represented. The district commander will have the assistance of Lieut A. 'F. Dow (chief examiner), who -will act as deputy-com-mander during the afternoon. ST. MARY'S TROOP. A number of ladies have formed a committee in the Paruell District to forward the interests of the St. Mary's Troop of Uoy Scouts, which is part of the Diocasan Brigade.
