(Federal Treasurer) has announced that emploverß are not legally required to guarantee their employees' instalments to the war loan. 1 Should an employee who lias taken- up stock in the war loan be unable to keep up his payments, tlie Government would ; refund the amount he had paid. 1 In appealing for subscriptions for the | loan, the Minister stated that the Comjmonwealth required £50,000,000 a year ' i for war purposes.
