BRIGHTER RECRUITING.
FIFTEEN ENLISTMENTS THIS MORNING.
THREE MEN TURNED DOWN. There wus a revival of recruitng this morning, 1"> men having enlisted up till 2 p.m. Eighteen men were examined since the "Star" went to press on Saturday, and of this number two were rejected as unfit and one deferred on aqcount of deficient teeth. The names, octnrpations, and addresses of those (accepted, together with the groups to which they will be credited, are as follow:— NO. 1 (CITY) GROUP. Ivan B. Acruman, boatbuilder, <\ity. Bertram Ashley, clerk, Fort Street James Clarke, driver, Cook Street Harry E. Childe, carpenter, Fort Street. John E. Evans, steward, city. Leonard R. Lee, nddler, Beresford Street. Atrur B. Mansfield, orehardist, city. Thomas McMillan, labourer, Mount Street. John W. Mctcalf, enginedriver, city. Percy W. Phillips, barman, city. James Russell, carpenter. Fort Street. NO. 3 (WTTANGAREI) GROUP. Herbert Baldwin, farmer, Kirikopuui. Fred. W. Dormer, coachbuilder, Kaukapakapa.
NO. .4 „( HAMILTON.) GROUT. Robert Bell, bootmaker, Kawhia. Albert Wright, cook, Kopnkn, Mercer. Previously deferred, now fit:— NO. 1 (CITY) GROUP. George W f Cook, labourer, Otahuhu. Mr Davjd McLaren, ex-Mayor of Wellington, will deliver an address from the platform of the recruiting station at eight o'clock this evening.
