DEATH OF METCHNIKOFF.
FAMOUS SCIENTIST. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) (Received 11.50 a.m.) PARIS, July 16. The death has occurred of Professor Elie Metchnikoff. The late Professor MetchnikofT, of the famous Pasteur Institute. Paris, was the man who discovered the functions of the white corpuscles. He held the belief that old ape was a chronic disease, for which science would itnd a cure. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1908. The professor was an authority on serums.
