BIG GUN DUELS. PUSHING THE ENEMY BACK. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) ROME, July 1C A communique says: "'There have been intense artillery exchanges in the Adige Valley. We carried a strong position at the head of Posina Valley, south of Cornia del Coston and east of Porcolias. We drove out the enemy near Castcleko and at the entrane<> to the valley of Travenanzes, in the Tofana. region. Our batteries wrecked Toblach station." MAKE FURTHER PROGRESS. ENEMY ATTACKS REPULSED. The High Commissioner reports under date London, .Inly Hi: — "The Italian oirieial reports state that on the I'osina line heavy fighting has been continued in spite of a violent thunderstorm, which hindered the work of the artillery. "The Italians progressed on the southern slopes of Bogli Bianchi and in the
Hoite Valley, where they .occupied Vanzi, on the northern elopes of Montd Seluggio. •'The enemy wns strongly reinforced in this sector, and launched violent attacks, but was driven off with heaw losses. "hi the Tofonii a further counterattack by the enemy was repulsed."
