Xary League-.—The Council decided to donate £23 towards the Naval Belief Fundi

Lands Department intimaaed that the Forestry Department was prepared to supply, at a nominal cost., suitable trees for fanners to plant for shelter, plantation, and timber purposes on their farms, and forwarded a schedule of the trees available. The matter was deferred until the next jneetins.

Motor Car.—The advisability of purchasing a motor ear for the use of the Engineer caused considerable discussion, members in turn commenting eulogistically and disparagingly upon the utility of a motor car in their Ridings. Ultimately Cγ. Dye's motion to rescind a former resolution authorising the Council to purchase an automobile was defeated.

A Complaint. — The Avondale Road Board wrote expressing disapproval of the work done ou Portage Road culvert, to the cost ot which they had contributed. The ehflirmaa stated that steps had already been taken to remedy tlie trouble.
