PLOT TO INVADE CANADA
A German named Max Lyuar, better ■known as " Count" Max Lynar Loudon, who has just been committed to prison ou a charge of bigamy, has confessed to Assistant District Attorney Milton that, up to a few months ago, he was involved in" a daring plot to invade Canada with 130,000 former German soldiers now in this country (.suvs n. York message).
He Insisted that n Iu.OOCvOOO dollar fund bad been raised among wealthy GermanAmericans to finance this expedition, aud that these reservists are even now organised and prepared to take up arms against the United States in case of trouble with Germany.
L-yuar declared that because of his experience in both the American and German armies lie was asked to become Chief oC Staff of the expedition. Oue section of the expedition, he said, was to start from Silver Creek, N.l'., with the Welland Canal and Windmill Foint as its objectives. Another was to start from Wilson, N.l'., for •I'ort Hope, and a third from Watcrtown, with Kingston, Ont., as its destiuation.
