About 9000 special constables attended the special service held" for them at the Albert Hall, London, and Bishop Taylor Smith, Chaplain-General to the Forces, preached from a pulpit of drums. On taking up (his position on the platform the bishop said: "The success of such a ser.vice depends on everyone doing his bit. Therefore bring your hearts and minds and your mouths into this service." '
