HTJSBAXD AKD WIFE. The majority of the large number of cases of disputes' between, husband and wife set down for hearing at the Magistrate's Court this morning before Mr. C. C. Kettle were adjourned owing. to the unavoidable absence of necessary witnesses. Alice Fletcher, who was represented 1 y ilr. W. Vallance, asked that the order of 7/0 per week maintenan-e against her husband, Jos. Fletcher. (Mr. C. J.Tunke), should be increased in view of the'fact that his financial circumstances were now better. Mr. Tunks eaid that the liueband was earning a fair wage, and had a home at Pokeno, but Mrs. Fletcher refused to live with him. His Worship pointed out that tho defendant could make an application to have the order rescinded. In the meantime he would increase the order to 10/ per week without prejudice. The ■ defendant's circumstances certainly ■ appeared to be better than -when- the original order was made.
