A WIDE EXTENSION. <By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. Collection of tlie cost of living statistics will be an easier and more exact matter in consequence of regulations gazetted to-night under which wholesale and retail dealers may be required to furnish monthly returns of prices. House owners and agents are- required, if called I'pon, to submit particulars of rents. An elaborate series of forms is included m the regulations, showing that it is intended to get details of the price of every New Zealand product, practically every commodity in general use, including ironwork, building materials, grocer- '<•'», dress materials, china, glassware and fruit.
