HAMILTON NEWS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. Curing the past week 101 men have teen enrolled at the Hamilton dffice, of whom 41 were aceepled out of 07 who underwent the medical test. Captain Kiist, O.C. No. 1 Group, visited Hamilton during the week to make arrangements to credit No. 4 Group witir"all enlistments from the group taking ulace in the city. He stated that had" this been done from the first it would have reduced the No. 4 shortage very materially indeed.
The Mayor of Frankton, Mr. Allen, tendered his resignation to the Council hurt 1 night. The resignation lias nothing to do with the amalgamation controtroversy, but was put in from purely j'vivate reasons. Mr. Ellis, a leading amalgatnationist, nominated Mr. F. B.
