38 NEW CASES.

The decline in the number of cases of infantile paralysie revealed by the notifications'of the past three days was continued to-day, when only one freeh caee—in the country—wts brought to light. This brought tbe total number of eases during the epidemic to 38S, of ■which 218 have been in the rural area and 170 in the city and suburban district. Four 'deaths have .occurred this week, all of the victims residing in the country. The total number of deaths is now 36, or just under 9.3 per cent or the cases. The cases notified during the week numbered 38, nearly all of which were received at"the Public Health Office during the first two daye of the week. Last week's total was 31, so that the figures represent a slight increase. The progress of the epidemic is told by the following table: — City. Country Total.
