GEN. GALLIENI RESIGNS
OWING TO ILL-HEALTH. PARIS,, March 17. General Gallieni, French Minister for War, has "resigned owing to ill-health. General Rogues has succeeded him.. General Gallieni is now 07 years of age. In the critical attack of General yon Kluck in the beginning of the war General Giillieni's swift measures were of enormous value to the French arniy. He commanded a division at a yonnger age than any Frendi officer since Napoleon. The General served in 'the Franco-German War, and was Com-mander-in-Chief of Madagascar from 1806 to 1905. When the war broke out he war Military Governor of Paris. , He ww appointed Minister of War in October tart. .
