MANSLAUGHTER CHARGES.
LEVEL CROSSING FATALITIES. NELSON. Tueeday. The Supreme Court criminal eeeeions were opened to-day, before Mr Justice Denniston. The only cases were two charges of manslaughter arising- out of recent collisions 'between motor cars and trains. Henry Leo Talbot, driver of a car which collided with a train at Richmond on January 28, on which occasion a girl named Itmthe Rhodes had sustained injuries which terminated fatally, ■was found guilty of manslaughter, with a strong recommendation to mercy. Sentence was deferred. The case of Frank Rnpcrt Hallam, in connection with the Anneebrook accident, will .be taken on Thursday.
