AUCKLAND AEROPLANE FUND.
(To the Editor.) Sir.—ln connection with this fund, it will be of interest to your readers to know that up to December last 46 aeroplanes have been presented to the Royal Flying Corps through the medium of the Overseas Club. Will you permit mc to ask all members of our club to assist the movement now started to add to the Imperial Air Flotilla, so that our country may not be menaced owing to the air supremacy attained by our enemies? The cost of a Gnome Vickers plane, with gun, up to the present standard, is about £3000. His Majesty the King has expressed his gratification at the liberal spirit with which the overseas Dominions have responded to the appeal from the Overseas Club, and Lord Kitchener, Mr. Bonar Law, and others have added their meed of praise to the efforts which are being made. At a meeting of the committee of the aiove fund, at which the Hon. Geo. Fowlds, chairman, presided, it was decided to ask the Auckland Press to open subscription lists and acknowledge contributions. May I ask you to kindly accede to this reauest, which will, I am sure, give a great stimulus to the fund?—l am, etc.. HORACE H. HUNT, Hon. Sec. Overseas Club. [Subscriptions may be sent to this office.--Ed.l
