The quantity of meat in store at the inception of the a scheme- was 1,383,781 carcases. This was. gradually increased to 2,187,659 carcases on July 3. The supply of insulated tonnage then began to killing,'till on November 13 the stores held only 102,932 carcases. Now- the season is in full ewting, and the stores were holding, on February 12, the. latest stocktaking, 1 ..411,364. carcases.' Six steamers - are loading, sixmore load this month, and .eight otherare due-in.the. course of the next six .weeks, for later.loading..- ■';. Chefese bought since September is valued at £485,560. ■ The' Government forwarded 88 tons of seheelite, on which .£17,191 has been advanced*
