LONDON, March L A French wireless message, replying to a German wireless statement that a single, shell had destroyed the fort-at-Douaumont, letting in daylight through, all the walls and reaching the.magazine, similar to the bombardment at Loncin fort at liege, states tbat no forts at Verdun contain magazines. Travellers'arriving in Switzerland state that the people of Germany are subdued owing to the losses at Verdun, the only comfort being the value of the prize.
