METHODIST CONFERENCE.

TUESDAY'S SESSION. The conference resumed this morning, the vice-president (Mr. George Winstone) being in the chair. Leave waa given the Stationing Committee to sit while conference was in session. CHURCH PROPERTY. The Rev., S. Lawry submitted the general report on church property for the year 1015, which was taken as read. Attention was called to the fact that there was a lack of accuracy in many of the returns. The debit balances showed etill greater discrepancies, tn one district the total differenceamounted to more than £450. Some home mission stations had not sent in returns. Sixteen freehold sites had been acquired, and eight new churches erected during the year. Enlargements and other improvements cost £2500 lees than in 1914. Three new parsonages had been erected. The great care and labour bestowed by the district secretaries was commended in the Toport. The current trust account showed receipts £52,739 17/Sj including balance in hand at beginning of the year £4132 17/8. The expenditure, including debit balance last year of £11,282 15/11, totalled £58,769 3/2. The credit' balances carried forward totalled £.4435 O/6, and debit balance carried forward £11,517 18/0, debts to loan fund £10,027 11/10, debts on other securities £116.503 3/2, -debts reduced figured at £6200 0/1, and debts increased amounted to £6804 1/7. The amount of insurance was £335,007. The report was adopted, and a vote of thanks waa accorded district secretaries for the good work done. A special vote of sympathy was passed to Mr. T. Hodgson,, Auckland district secretary, who is at present in ill-health. Rev. Lawry referred to the great work done by Mr. F. C. Daniclls in looking into the accounts of trust properties. DISTRICT SECRETARIES. The following district secretaries were re-appointed: South Auckland, Mr. F. C. Daniells; Hawke's Bay-Manawatu, Mr. R. T. Hodder; Wellington, Mr. E. Dawson; Nelson, Mr. J. Boon; North Canterbury, Mr. C. E. Salter; South Canterbury, Mr. W. G. Irwin; Otago, Mr. E. Rosevear; and SouthlaiiJ, Mr. A. S. Froggatt. Taranaki-Wanganui and Auckland appointments were deferred. TRUSTEES' REGISTER. Rev. .Samuel Lawry submitted the report of the authorised representative, and called attention to fche fact that there were several cases in which there had no revision of the list of trustees for many years past. Names of a number of deceaeej persons were allowed to continue on the register. 11ANGAWEKA CHURCH. Discussion arose regarding the sale of the church building at Manga-weka to the Masoißi It was explained that half an acre of land had been reserved for a church site when required. Key. Hopper expressed regret, as a pioneer of Mangaweka Church, that it had been sold. That land, Jie explained, was got from the Government for £12 10/, as It was for church, purposes, otherwise it would have cost probably £50.
