ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL

The meeting of the Onehunga Borough Council Vas attended last night by Messrs J. ;Kcwe (Mayor), :H. J. Davies, I. 'Lomas, E. J: Higgine,' <i. ■£~ Taylor, .T. H. Pard-' ington, C. C. Davis, W J. Brewin, W. W. Warnock, and li. V. Sutherland. Finance.—The. district account is iv credit £14Oi W/S and the cemetery account £22228/3; Accounts amounting to i(B2 were.passed for- payment. ■ .Infantile 'Paralysis.—A circular ivas received from the Public Health Department relating to the spread of Infantile paralysis. The Council was asked to co-operate and assist, in,dealing with the-dust nuisance •by. efficient watering of the streets and the removal of those insanitary conditions which assist In the - spreading of flies* The ■Mayor-said the subject did-not require much discussion. The CouncH could help materially in many, ways to abolish the fly nuisance. He-thought that stable manure and all other kinds of offal should be removed daily. The streets might also be swept and well watered daily. H e moved, :rrhat themain street be swept tWtimes weekly and kept well watered daUy; also that the inspector and foreman" of Wks take special precautions to try and nrevent thespxeading of disease."
