SWIStMING GALA. XOBiIAL SCHOOL. KPOBTS. The annual swimming sports of the toys of the Normal School tops place yesterday afternoon. The Chief Inspector of the Auckland Education Board (Mr E. J. Mulgao) addressed the competitors, of whom there were a cousidcraDie number, prior to the opening of the sports. He commended them on their perseverance in gaining certificates for life-earing and swimming. A fourteen-year-old competitor named L. Kenny put up a remarkable performance during the afternoon in capturing no less than nine events out of the eleven in which he took part.
