PRODIGALITY OF THE GERMAN SACRIFICE.
ATTACK ORGANISED THREE MONTHS AGO. FRENCH USE OItLY ONE-SEVENTH OF POTENTIAL DEFENDERS ((Received 10.15 a.m.) PARIS, February 25. Newspapers state that the Crown Prince's offensive was organised for three months. The points of attack do not form part of the real defences of Verdun. After profiting by a favourable terrain the Germans now face elevated open country from the Mcuse to Beaumont. • The newspapers marvel at tho prodigality of the sacrifice of Germany's best troops. The French put forward only one-seventh of those who might have been thrown into action.
