PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
NEW HUNTSMAN APPOINTED.
A meeting of the committee of the Pakuranga Hunt Club was held this morning, the master, Mr. H. BullockWebster, presiding, when applications for the position of huntsman to the club, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr. A. Selby, were con-1 sidered. There were twelve applications, and after discussion, Mr. W. 8. Hirst, the present huntsman o£ the; Woodlands Club, Pahiatua, was appointed. Mr. A. Selby, the retiring huntsman, has held the" position for the last twenty-one years, and in recognition of ■his valuable services to the sport, the committee have granted him a bonus of £75, and a life pension of £65 per amrflm, besides making him a life member of the club. Mr. Hirst takes up his new duties on March 1.
