WHANGAREI RACES.
A RUMOUR DENIED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, this day. A nimour has been circulated that certain horses published as accepted for the Whangarel Haces are only dummies, put In to make up numbers. 'Interviewed this morning, the secretary of the Whangare.' Racing Club emphatically denied the , rumour, and further stated that the canard was absolutely without foundation. The actual figures show that there are 41 horses (in all, 61 nominations) for the eeven races on the first day. From these 41 horses, 80 nominations for various races on the second day have been received, and the weights will be declared at 10 p.m. after the first day!s races.
