My confidence in your sense of duty, your courage, and your chivalry has since been nobly justified. Now that 1 require tout services in another lield of action, 1 ,-ish to express my satisfaction at your conduct on the h; tlefields of Hel.sium and France, where, amid toils and hardships your courage and endurance, often against great odds, your noble deeds of e ver memorable eotiHict in this warfare, under new conditions peculiarly trying under the circumstances, have covered you with fame and lustre. You have worthily upheld the honour of the Empire and the {Treat traditions of the Indian Army. 1 shall ever hold your gallant sacrifices in grateful remembrance.".
