This is the -&n*z time that the Century has visited this port. After lifting cargo at Auckland, the Century- will sail for Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, Napier, and Wellington. M.AMARI FOR LONDON. j The Shaw, Savill and Albion's Mamari I left Auckland ou Christinas morning for j Loudon. She was berthed at the Queen's wharf, loading meat, butter and general cargo. j REML'ERA TO LOAD. ' The Xew Zealand -Shipping Co.'s Remuera arrived at Auckland at an early hour yesterday morniug from Napier tn load cargo tor London. She is berthed at the Cjueeu's wharf. After loading here, she will sail for Wellington again, and leave there for London on January i. PAPAROA FROM LIVERPOOL. The New Zealand .Shipping Company's Paparoa arrived here this morning from Liverpool, and berthed at the Cjueeu's wharf, to discharge about 2,000 tons of general cargo. The voyage was uneventful, lair weal her being met all the way. After discharging here the Paparoa will sail for south to put out the rest of her cargo. Captain X. K. A report from Xew York says that the State Department on October 27 announced that it had received cable ad vices from Berlin that under a law passed on October -I the German Government forbade any German citizens who own or have a share in any merchant ship to sell or in any way dispose of the interest to anyone who is not .i subject of Germany. The law applies to German subjects in foreign countries. A number of German vessels have been bought by Americans since the war began, and there are many German merchant j ships laid up in American ports. Germany's action Inif.'cates to officials in Washingion, that she is endeavouring to keep i intact her merchant marine for use after I the war.
