CHILDREN'S FETE.

t i .... AT ALEXANDRA. PARK. The children's fete in aid of the 1 Patriotic Fund, so successfully launched at Alexandra Park yesterday* afternoon, i was favoured by a continuance of fino weather during last evening. ; The programme executed included many |of the dance items given by the children during the afternoon. The main incij dent, however, was the dancing of a j torchlight Tecl by Mr. Mitchcll-Dargie ; and party, which proved to be a cleverly executed and highly spectacular feature. Music was discoursed by the Garrison Artillery Band. To-day the reopening of the fete was I heralded shortly after notm by a motor procession from Queen Street in which many of the children participated, and' the principal fire brigades of the city and suburbs were represented. An interesting programme of dances and children's sports was gone through and music was supplied by the Third,(Auckland) Band. An attractive series of entertainment has been arranged for this evening.
